KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's car sales posted another strong growth, amounting to 71,745 units sold in August, the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) said on Friday.
MAA said in a statement that the total industry volume (TIV) was 13 percent higher than 63,676 units in July. It was the second time this year the monthly TIV has exceeded the 70,000 mark.
According to the MAA, the strong growth was due to overall better performances across the board, improved supply chain and the National Day promotional campaigns by car companies.
Meanwhile, the total industry production of 67,912 units in August was also higher compared with 66,862 units in July.
As for September, MAA expects car sales to be like last month's level.
